SolidSteel ventured into the cut and bend rebar business because it saw the opportunity posed by Singapore's land shortage, which makes it unfeasible to have cut and bend facilities on site. The continuous upgrading of buildings in Singapore also creates business opportunities for the company. SolidSteel mainly services the private construction market in Singapore as well as select foreign offshore projects.

Milestone
1991
SolidSteel was established in August 1991 under the directorship of Mr. William Tham Weng Hoong and his business partner. Since start-up, its main activities have been the cut and bend of steel rebars, the sale of twelve-meter steel rebars, and the trade of scrap metal.
1999
In 1999, SolidSteel acquired its own factory facilities in the light and medium industrial area in Singapore.
1997-2024
SolidSteel has remained steady and open for business for over thirty years through many difficult periods including the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis and the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. Good management skills, flexibility in production, and sound financial health have allowed the company to endure. Reasonable pricing, high-grade products, quick turnover, and timely delivery further reinforces SolidSteel's position in the market.
2025
As of 2025, the company is led by Mr. Alvis Chong Kee Liang and Mr. Andy Low Han Siang, who continue to uphold SolidSteel’s legacy while driving the company forward with innovation, efficiency, and a commitment to supporting Singapore’s evolving construction landscape. & add like 'move to new location & more spacoius or enviroment good.
